SAFEcontractor is a highly successful accreditation scheme which assesses the health & safety competence and track record of contractors.

Those contractors found by National Britannia’s professionals to have demonstrated consistently safe standards are listed on a database which is made available to our blue chip clients via the Internet.

Clients enjoy the peace of mind of selecting only contractors who will deliver the same high standards as their own staff. Using the database also saves them the time and money involved in vetting contractors.

Firms which achieve SAFEcontractor accreditation gain additional business opportunities from large national clients who use the database. In addition they can enjoy lower premiums from insurance partners who recognise lower risk.

To date more than 5,600 contractors, providing many different services, spread right across the UK, have been assessed and accredited.

Clients can simply select an accredited contractor from the existing database by logging on to www.safecontractor.com or ask National Britannia to assess their current contractor list. Passing the assessment should be a condition of remaining on the client’s approved list.

For a small fee, SAFEcontractor fully administers this process – introducing the scheme to contractors, undertaking audits and annual reviews, providing management information and maintaining the client’s approved list.

SAFEcontractor accreditation also gives firms 24-hour access to practical help and advice on health and safety from National Britannia.
