This four-day module trains in the techniques of asbestos sample identification. Required by UKAS for those undertaking analysis regularly.

BOHS P402 - Building Surveys and Bulk Sampling for Asbestos
A three-day course to train surveyors in the locating of asbestos materials and taking bulk samples, risk assessment, asbestos registers and risk management.

BOHS P403 - Asbestos Fibre Counting
A two-day course training in the techniques of fibre counting of asbestos in air samples using phase contrast microscopy. Concludes with a multiple-choice exam and microscope practical.

BOHS P404 - Air Sampling and Clearance Testing of Asbestos
This two-day course is run back to back with the P403 course and is now a requirement for those undertaking airborne fibre sampling and clearance testing. Concludes with a multiple-choice exam and practical assessment.

BOHS P405 - Management of Asbestos in Buildings
This four-day course covers all aspects of management and removal including current legislation and the role of the laboratory.

BOHS S301 - Asbestos and other Fibres.
This five-day course introduces students to occupational hygiene practice in relation to various fibrous dusts. It covers health hazards, legislation, exposure limits, surveys, removal and clearance testing. Suitable for candidates who already hold a combination of P401 to P405 modules.

Open course £795 plus £90 BOHS examination fee per delegate. In-house course £3,975* per course plus £90 BOHS examination fee per delegate. This course is available on a one day per week basis for five weeks.

Managing asbestos in premises - the new duty to manage (duty holders)
A two-day course suitable for those who are specifically allocated responsibilities under regulation 4 of the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2006. Multiple choice assessment paper.

Safe Management of Asbestos in buildings
A one-day course enabling an understanding of the problems relating to asbestos containing materials. No examination necessary
