An example of course content - Basic Manual Handling
This one day course will provide delegates with an introduction to the anatomy of the spine explaining how the back works and the common causes of back pain together with exercises for back care. Legislation is discussed together with the principles of manual handling covering the duties of the employer and employee. Risks to health in relation to manual handling activities together with the causes and types of injuries prevention strategies, risk assessment and most importantly planning the lift are covered. The practical aspects of the course cover safe lifting techniques with role - play in correct lifting techniques. A certificate of attendance is provided
