National Britannia has developed cost effective ways to collect the data needed to provide good risk information forming the basis of the knowledge required to make good risk management decisions.
Our data and information gathering falls into three main parts.
Collation from many sources and interpretation of legislation is carried out, along with the preparation of helpful practical guidance notes so that Clients can understand what their duties are. For example The Reporting of Injuries, Diseases and Dangerous Occurrences Regulations 1995 (RIDDOR), require employers and persons in control of premises to report certain incidents to the appropriate enforcing authority. The maximum penalty for failing to report incidents is £5,000.
This wealth of information is provided to Clients through Internet systems, news-letters and telephone help lines.
National Britannia is expert in providing mechanisms by which raw data can be collected in relation to Clients' often many and diverse sites, where information may normally be difficult to collect. Although not an exhaustive list the following information can colleted:

Persons in control of premises have health and safety responsibilities as Clients, as do the visiting Contractors, to protect each other, visitors, people living nearby and members of the public. These responsibilities, if not properly managed, can lead to events that could prove costly. Thus Clients need to satisfy themselves that contractors have the skills and knowledge to do the required work safely. A considerable amount of information is thus required ranging from what experience they through to what health and safety training and supervision they provide to their staff. Such assessments can be complex, difficult and time consuming so National Britannia has developed SAFEcontractor to remove this burden. This a third party accreditation assessment scheme that reviews and audits the Health & Safety Policies, Procedures and Documentation of Contractors. Once accredited, they are entered onto an Internet based register that Clients can easily search at www.safecontractor.co.uk
