water risks

With decades of experience of water hygiene and legionellosis risk management, we are one of the most respected independent consultants in the field.  The company has conducted many thousands of projects for a wide variety of clients, including the public and private sector.  We are active throughout the UK and are members of the "Legionella Control Association" (formerly known as the "Code of Conduct Association").  We pride ourselves in providing responsive, innovative and effective risk management solutions.

Our Legionella and Water Hygiene Services include:

Audit

Critical to the development of any good management system.  As a preparatory first stage, and on an annual basis to ensure the level of compliance and progress made by an organisation.  This provides a management system approach to legionellosis.  The output report contains top-level recommendations with costs for the suggested actions.

Risk Screen

A desk based assessment of potential risk offered by each premises, block or part of premises. This is used to review the property profile, establish the number of sites and which sites are to be subject to a risk assessment.  Particularly useful to organisations with large property portfolios.

Policy & Procedures

Policy & Procedures, tailored to the client’s needs, for the safe operation and management of water systems is essential in the battle to control water hygiene associated risks.  Various levels are available from Organisation policy, Central procedures and Contractor level procedures to Procedures for site heads, including site log books and standards specs for remedial works.

Risk Assessment and Risk Minimisation Scheme (Risk Management System)

We have developed a refined and efficient risk management system into which the data from the on site surveys is entered.  This system is capable of generating the risk minimisation scheme [action plan] report, risk assessment report, prioritised remedial work lists with budget costs.  We can deliver a number of tailored reports at the request of the client.

Schematics

Schematics are required by the HSE Approved Code of Practice [L8] to extend and develop a risk assessment.   We have a great deal of experience in the preparation of schematics, from very simple line drawings to isometrics to complex layered drawings. Drawings are produced using CAD packages and can be supplied in either paper or electronic copies.

Training

We call upon our wealth of knowledge and experience to provide an informative and effective series of training sessions.  These include standard open training sessions and training tailored to the Client’s requirements.

Trial of alternative / additional water systems (and other such trials)

We will examine a Client’s specific requirements and situation in order to identify the most appropriate course of action for that client.  Including the research, review and trial of potential water treatment systems [including ionisation, chlorine dioxide, UV etc], Scale control technique studies and corrosion and microbial water treatment tests.

Water Sampling and Monitoring

Including sampling for Legionella, TVC, E.Coli, coliforms and other bacteriological parameters,  sampling for various metals in water [including copper, zinc, iron, lead sodium, silver etc] and other minerals.   Performance of water systems and other system monitoring.

Retained Specialist Support

We can establish and chair a risk management group as part of an annual or multiple year risk management support retainer.  The group meets to discuss progress against core issues identified by the legionella and water hygiene audit.  We chair the group meetings, provide direction and assistance and produce meeting minutes.
